A story about re-falling in love, what that means, how hard it can be and why it's so important.
This is how I would end 'The Amazing Spider-Man' films with a story I really really wanted to tell. This project took 6 months due to Uni work but it's here and I'm so proud of it. I got to tell a story which includes girth, similarities, kindness and letting go of past issues. I really hope you all enjoy. Imagine this as a love story but with fun Spider-Man action around. The official screenplay is available to read below. Sit back and I hope you all enjoy The Amazing Spider-Man 3

![]() The Jean Rose Documentary is based on my Grandma, Jean Rose and the impact a person can have on someone's life. I really like that story. What I also loved as this story progressed was the impact a Grandma could have on a person as Jean would live with her best friend and her Grandma as their mothers weren't around to raise her. It added this little extra element to what is to me a tribute video but also something anyone can enjoy and you don't need to be a member of my family to enjoy it. One issue that came up for me was the audio. I made a mistake with the audio and it didn't record properly. I had to use Adobe Podcast AI to clear the audio and it worked quite well but I had to completely cut a segment because the edit wouldn't pick up the audio which would be coming from the phone for a watching segment. It worked out quite nicely though as it made the edit a lot tighter and more organised for the production and made it less niche in a way. This is by far the project I am most proud of. Not even for a personal standpoint but more so a professional standpoint. It's my vision, all of it and it genuinely works and I am very happy I got to make it. One of the biggest projects I had to do was the bonfire project for Carlisle. We needed to get sounds for the theme 'The History Of Cumberland'. My role was creative lead so I had say on the audio would sound and if they needed to be altered. The bonfire night project seemed to be a big misunderstanding between everyone and clients with the students just trying to figure out what we needed to do. My role was not needed as we found out later on as we was just meant to gather the audio and send it off the the client which we didn't know about. However, we still got the freedom to create our audio, things that weren't discussed that we did anyway because we thought we had more freedom at the time included sounds like the Roman chanting. This made it into the final presentation and it did feel really rewarding. Despite the misunderstandings and confusing situation our work was still showcased in front of thousands of people which was a very proud moment for me.
What this project taught me was to stick to what I am meant to do but be prepared to adapt in case plans change or information gets misinterpreted. My journey through Professional Development so far has been about listening to different bits of advice and making my own conclusion. I have gathered that the free lances that have came in to talk to us have had one thing in common. A just say yes mindset. A mindset where no matter what comes your way to take it head on, learn develop and grow. The project might not be the most exciting but learning from it and earning money can lead to doors open avenues for other more exciting projects.
Jack of all trades, master of none: Alan Hewitt said in his talk about his wildlife photography that he just can't relay on that. He needs to do more such as tour guiding and podcasting. The idea is to earn multiple ways to earn money in case things go wrong or aren't as successful as others. It is a way look impressive to employers that you have a lot of talent. Others would rather nail down one specific area. The idea being the best in the field. Creating a consistent and impressive catalogue of work that will make businesses want to work with them. If you do so much then yes it looks impressive but a business would rather higher someone who is excellent at one thing then someone who is just very good at one thing because they are busy trying to get good at other areas ![]() I wrote and directed the short film CLUCKED. This was for our 48 Hour Film Challenge. I loved this project. I thought it was fun and we got to express our creativity in an unique way. I wrote the script the night before (we got the breath the same day) and the script had to include room for the prop we was given and a line. The group had an outline of making the chicken haunting a Liberian. I wrote my script with it just being an average day for a vegan Liberian and she is insulting her friend on the phone for not wanting to give up meat (especially chicken) after having a serious heart attack. She then gets haunted by a chicken in the library and then loses her voice and can only speak like a chicken. The only way she could get her voice back (according to the chicken) is if she eats the chicken.....which might not be the first time she has eaten a chicken. 3 of us wrote a script with mine being chosen as the script for the film but we incorporated elements of the other two just so their hard work wasn't wasted. I learnt how to lead a film, manage time in a production and try and move things in a quicker pace to keep the actress and crew happy and not lost Work experience can come in many forms, from a few weeks of placement to just a few hours in a single day. What are the main advantages of work experience? You will gain knowledge on your chosen secure which you will be able to take to your course. The main reason to use work experience is being potentially scouted by employees. COMPANIES FOR FILM AND TV ![]() This was our audio task where we had to record audio in controlled and uncontrolled environments. Whilst the clips are short I think it was very beneficial to do to see things that we need to tweak for the future. I believe you can clearly tell which ones are controlled and uncontrolled which whilst being the point is something that needs work on when I gain more experience in the future.
This is my Journey Of A Pen video. This was a mixture of clips I had filmed edited together. This was my first time properly editing a clip together to create a story and whilst I enjoyed it I feel it looks rushed in terms of the pacing. If I was to do this again, I would slow down on some of the clips and let things breath before transitioning to the next scene in the story. I did however, really enjoy adding music from the internet and editing the audio so the music hits and transitions at the right movements and the songs fit with the video as well I feel. ![]() This was a group project involving me, Harrison and Callum with the intention to get a 5 shot sequence and film an interview with him. The intention of using good lighting, cinematography, sound and editing. I believe we did most of these things however, we couldn't find the Boom mic audio which would have been much more beneficial to us. One thing I want to personally improve on is organising the work as sometimes it gets lost and I struggled to find it and due to lack of experience I don't know how to save it properly and export it. I do really like the B-roll footage and I feel it added a lot to the second question and I wish we got B-Roll footage of Harrison which would have fit more with the first question as that is just one camera shot and nothing changes, and it felt staler than the other clip. ![]() This photograph is the beginning of the journey into the city. Walking over the bridge. I chose the have the photo be ground level to get a more clear look at the road and the lights reflecting from the cars and street lamps. The main technique I used was dimming the lighting and using highlights to make the lamp lights and car lights stand out and be the main focal point whilst also reflecting off of the road below. It also subtly shows the orange autumn leaves which was the effect I was going for. If I was to do this again I'd probably try and make the leaves stand out more and make sure the streetlights don't overshadow them. I rotated the camera here to be upside down whist lying it in the centre of the road (connected to a safe waiting area in the middle of the road) to show the nightlife of the area. This is where the local clubs are so I wanted the image to look more chaotic and less traditional so I that's why I flipped it. It also makes the person looking at the picture pay attention to it more because it looks more unique. I also did a more standard version because I'm unsure which version to prefer as I like how there more colours at the top. ![]() This was taken towards the church in the area. The idea behind this was to highlight the leaf in the centre. Using portrait mode it made the autumn leaf a clear focus. ![]() Photographed at the Carlisle Castle I used the leading lines technique so the wall emerges as the picture goes on. the Orange light reflecting off the castle walls was edited to make it look warmer and to be more noticeable by dimming the camera lighting ![]() I took a day time photo as well to experiment editing an image which has a lot more natural lighting. I thought I'd dim the image lighting. I feel it worked as it emphasises the ground and the grey colours however, I think the train station could be more central instead of tilted more towards the left. ![]() The UK flag image here was edited to give a more old school and retro look. The idea behind this was to represent the prestige of the flag and the history |
